Congratulations to Senior Stella B., our January Rotary Student of the Month for Science! Stella will be honored at the Rotary Club breakfast on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00 AM at Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook, alongside students from other Shoreline schools. She will receive a certificate, a monetary gift, and a donation made in her name to Polio Plus. Well done, Stella!
PTSO and Project Graduation Updates
The PTSO meets January 28th at 6:00 PM. Project Graduation fundraising is in full swing! Athletics
The winter sports season is well underway, and Westbrook student-athletes are off to an outstanding start across multiple programs. Indoor Track and Field opened the season with a very successful first meet, already qualifying four athletes for the state meet and Shorelines, with five additional athletes earning Shoreline qualifications. Girls Ice Hockey earned an exciting 6–5 victory over Guilford yesterday afternoon, scoring the game-winning goal in the final minutes of play. The Gymnastics Co-Op continues to show steady improvement and is posting impressive team scores, with their next meet scheduled for Tuesday, January 13 at 6:00 PM at Jonathan Law High School. Girls Basketball is off to a strong 3–2 start, while Boys Basketball looks forward to a competitive home matchup tonight at 6:00 PM against Coginchaug. Wrestling will also be in action this weekend, competing on Saturday, January 10 at 9:30 AM at Canton High School, looking for a competitive match.
Volunteers Needed- Pink Game Raffle Items
As we prepare for the upcoming WHS Girls and Boys Basketball Pink Games vs. Parish Hill on Wednesday, January 14th, we are reaching out with a friendly reminder that we are still seeking additional parent volunteers to help make this event a success.
The boys’ game will tip off at 5:00 PM, followed by the girls’ game at 7:00 PM, and youth basketball players will be participating at halftime during both games. Support from our families plays a big role in creating a fun and meaningful Pink Game experience for everyone involved.
