Weekly Update - Week Ending 12/19/25
Good afternoon, Westbrook High School students, parents, and guardians. Here is some current information to help keep you informed about all things WHS.
Boston Trip
It has been said that life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain. Well, many of our high school students are on an exciting Boston trip today, and, compliments of Mother Nature, they are learning to dance in the rain. We waved a damp goodbye to a third of our high school population at 11:15 AM this morning. As I write this, students are enjoying shopping time near the Prudential Center upon arrival at 1:30 PM. The afternoon will include a self-guided visit to Boston's Museum of Science from 3:00-4:30 PM, followed by dinner at Fire & Ice. The highlight of the evening will be the Boston Symphony Hall Holiday Pops Concert, beginning at 7:30 PM. Students will return to Westbrook High School at approximately midnight. This day promises to blend cultural enrichment, holiday festivities and a lesson in making the best of a rainy day.
Auditorium Drama
Supertech has started the auditorium lighting project at Westbrook High School. We are very excited about this state-of-the-art overhaul, which will transform our performance space. One of the first opportunities for the public to experience this upgrade will be during our spring drama production of The Neverland Project. This documentary-style play presents Wendy's perspective on the Peter Pan story, featuring innovative roles and creative blocking. The production explores the importance of holding onto imagination through comedy while incorporating surprisingly moving moments, making it a perfect showcase for our young thespians and our new lighting capabilities.
SAT Update
Juniors will be arriving home with a gift from the school today: an SAT review book. The school-day SAT mandatory state assessment is under four months away, and WHS has a plan to help students prepare. Juniors can take their review into their own hands and use these manuals to set themselves apart from the pack.

Volunteers Needed to Run the Concession Stand During High School Basketball Games
The Westbrook Athletic Boosters are seeking student and parent volunteers to work the concession stand during home boys and girls basketball games this season. Each shift is about 1 hour and 15 minutes and students can earn community service hours. All funds raised support our student-athletes and senior scholarships.
